About Us

The Leicester u3a Bridge group runs a number of activities to support u3a members who wish to play bridge. Whether you are a beginner, an improver or an experienced play there is probably an activity suitable for you!

As well as providing bridge activities locally we also engage with activities organized at a national level which helps us broaden the scope of what we can offer. Local activities are face to face and online. National activities are undertaken online but face to face support can be provided locally to help you engage with these activities if required,

The current range of our activities is listed below and our calendar is here.

The group is aimed at giving an opportunity to those who have a grounding in bridge and wish to improve their expertise. It is not necessary to have a partner to join as most members are ‘singles’. Meetings are intended to be friendly and helpful to members.

The beginners bridge course runs once a year. Locally we can provide help and support for engaging with this course, After completing this course you will be able to play to a good standard either online, socially or at a bridge club.

The course is run online so you will need to be comfortable with using an internet connected device and have suitable IT equipment to attend the course i.e. a good internet connection, a device of a suitable size with audio and video capability.

Please note: bridge is quite a difficult game to play at a reasonable standard and requires a a degree of commitment to become a proficient player. Attending the course is contingent on completing an online introduction to mini bridge and acquiring the course certificate. We can help you locally in passing this pre-requisite course and provide support to help you through the course itself should you attend.
