2023 - A rain affected year

2023 has not been a great year for the PATS group. What with rain in April and July and heat in early September, several strolls had to be called off and, with members having other commitments on stroll days; we were sometimes down to four or five.
Nevertheless we did have some enjoyable strolls particularly at the University Botanic Garden, Foxton Locks, Bradgate Park, King’s Lock, Victoria Park and Welland Park (in Market Harborough).
Tearooms that can be especially recommended for cakes include the Black Horse in Foxton (excellent scones), the Lock Keeper’s Cottage at Kings Lock in Aylestone, the Old Post Office in Newtown Linford and Browns in Allandale Road. Zeph’s in Oadby is also acceptable but the cake selection did not suit everyone in the group.
